It’s Thursday and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit, and a list of new bars, restaurants and shops to explore.

1. Ladies Night

Where/When: Cue Bar. Thursday night.

Why Go: Ladies not only get free drinks, but get to play pool for free as well.

Pricing: Free for the ladies!

2. Hurricane Sandy Fundraiser

Where/When: Samuel Field Y. On Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Why Go: This is a family fun night that will include dinner, crafts, games and prizes, all for a good cause. All proceeds will go to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

Pricing: $25 for one child and $20 for each additional sibling.

3. Birding: Winter Birds

Where/When: Albert H. Mauro Playground in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. On Saturday at 11 a.m.

Why Go: The cool brisk winter air will enhance your birding excursion, while you search for winter birds throughout the park. If you forget your binoculars, ask a park ranger for a pair!

Pricing: Free

4. Habana Hut

Where/When: At 214-09 41st Avenue. On Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Why Go: Enjoy a stogie while watching a game and chatting it up with others who love the smokey atmosphere as much as you do.

Pricing: Cigar prices vary.

5. Blue's Clues Live

Where/When: Queensborough Community College. On Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: This live musical performance will not only feature Blue and Steve, but will feature a fairytale theme with some of your kids' favorite characters.

Pricing: $12

The local, fresh fruit and vegetable market was a worthwhile addition to Douglaston. Obviously, itRead More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.

No specific reason was given other than this was at the initiative of the merchants or the market's organizers. And this..., just as we were beginning to enjoy the Long Island wines and the $34 per pound skirt steak, ordered two months in advance.
