It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit, and a list of new bars, restaurants and shops to explore.

 

1.  

Where/When: New York Hospital of Queens Cardiac Health Center. On Friday, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Why Go: If your schedule permits, take some time to treat your body right in the new year with a massage by somebody who really knows what they're doing.

Pricing: $45 for 30 minutes and $70 for an hour

 

 2.

Where/When: Oceans NYC Lounge, 77-14 Queens Boulevard. On Saturday, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Why Go: While this might seem like a little bit of a trip to get to, admission is free before midnight, ladies get open bar service from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. and DJ Ash & DJ All Out (from La Mega 97.9) will be there spinning beats.

Pricing: No cover before midnight

 

3. Giants vs. Packers

Where/When: . On Sunday, starting at 4:30 p.m.

Why Go: If watching the game wasn't reason enough, you'll get stellar specials throughtout, along with raffles and giveaways.

Pricing: Specials include snacks for $1.99 and $2.99, select drafts for $3 and shots for $4.99.

 

4. NFL Playoffs

Where/When: . On Saturday and Sunday.

Why Go: While you catch any of this weekend's four playoff games, you'll enjoy $3.50 pints, ten cent wings and a free half time buffet. What more can you ask for when watching the game on a nice flat screen? Oh, did I forget to mention there's also a superb tailgate menu?

Pricing: Food and drink prices vary.

 

5.  

Where/When: . On Sunday, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Why Go: This musically entertaining evening will include several opera singers, along with a prix fixe, four course meal, wine and beer.

Pricing: $65

The local, fresh fruit and vegetable market was a worthwhile addition to Douglaston. Obviously, itRead More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.

Unfortunately, according to the Douglas Manor Association, the fresh fruit and vegetable market willRead More NOT return this year. No specific reason was given other than this was at the initiative of the merchants or the market's organizers. And this..., just as we were beginning to enjoy the Long Island wines and the $34 per pound skirt steak, ordered two months in advance.
