Why Go: Mikey K. will be your live musical entertainment. What other reason could you possibly need?

2. New Shaker Drinks

Where/When: Uno Chicago Grill. On Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Why Go: Who couldn't go for a Mexican Shamrock so close to St. Patrick's Day?

Pricing: All New Shaker Drinks are $4.99 throughout the month of March.

3. Murder Mystery Interactive Show and Dinner

Where/When: Little Neck Jewish Center. On Saturday, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Why Go: You won't just sit back and watch a show, but be an actual part of it! All with dinner and dancing to boot!

Pricing: $45

4. Rakishi Appearance

Where/When: The Wrestling Universe, at 34-29 Francis Lewis Boulevard. On Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Rakishi won't be the only former WWE superstar making an appearance. Goldust will also be present to take pictures and sign autographs.

Pricing: $25

5. Wilderness Survival

Where/When: Alley Pond Park Adventure Center. On Saturday at 11 a.m.

Why Go: Think you've got what it takes to survive in the wild? Prove it.

Pricing: Free

The local, fresh fruit and vegetable market was a worthwhile addition to Douglaston. Obviously, itRead More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.

No specific reason was given other than this was at the initiative of the merchants or the market's organizers. And this..., just as we were beginning to enjoy the Long Island wines and the $34 per pound skirt steak, ordered two months in advance.
