June 2, 2011

Good morning, Bayside. We've got a lot of interesting news for you this Thursday. Let us serve it up hot:

3. Bayside now has a namesake falcon—born right atop the Throgs Neck Bridge. Falcons are allowed to make their homes on City bridges, and monitored by the NYC Department of Environmental Protection's Wildlife Studies division and the State Department of Environmental Conservation.

The birds are so young (and cute!) that they don't even chirp yet. Check out the videos to hear the birdies go, "cheep, cheep, cheep, cheep."
