FIVE THINGS: MTA Shut Down or Hurricane Check List

1. If the hurricane does hit, the entire MTA system will shut down. Every bus and train. The MTA is planned to shut down once winds hit 39 MPH.

2. Bridges may also shut down if it gets too windy to cross them safely.

3. Please check out in case you must leave on a moment's notice.

4. Remember that you don't want to wait until the last minute to get supplies. ! And remember to gas up your car!

5. Remember that this is very serious. The governor has declared a . No joke! Start preparing. Better that you're over-prepared if it ends up fizzling out, than under-prepared in a hurricane.

**One more Thing: Alternate side parking is in effect today, but cancelled for Saturday and Sunday. You will not have to pay the meter during the weekend.
