Family Talk: Fast Food

A forum for parents to chime in with their thoughts on weekly parenting topics.

If your family is anything like mine, you probably find yourself turning to f. With busy schedules and seemingly never ending days, sometimes it's just easier to have someone else prepare the meal while you either just order it or pick it up.

Such a great topic!! My cousin, Dr. Joanna Dolgoff, who is a child obesity doctor and developed the Red Light, Green Light, Eat Right weight management program for kids says it's not just about avoiding fast foods but knowing the choices you make while you're there in balance with the rest of your diet. Given that I definitely suffer from Big Mac attacks, I will take my family to fast food places, but not all too often.

That's great that your cousin was able to create an initiative for kids to learn healthy eating habits. I completely agree that the most important part of eating correctly is in making conscious choices on your overall consumption and not just avoiding certain types of foods completely. Thanks for the thoughtful comment Cynthia!
