Douglaston Little Neck Library's Upcoming Events Include Art Exhibit, Social Media Class

The library will also hold a screening of the film 'Now You See Me.'

The Douglaston Little Neck Library will host the work of a local artist, a screening of a popular thriller from last summer and a social media workshop in the coming weeks.

On Jan. 31, the library will host an opening reception for artist Olga Salamanca, whose mixed media works will be on display in the library’s gallery through April.

The event, which runs from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., will include food and conversation with the artist.

The library will hold a screening of the film “Now You See Me,” which chronicles the story of an FBI agent and Interpol detective tracking a team of illusionists who pull off bank heists during their performances. The movie stars Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson and Isla Fisher.

The screening begins at 2:30 p.m.

And, on March 19, the library will host Better Marketing Through Social Media, which will be presented through the Queens Chamber of Commerce.

During the event, Naini Nakagawa will discuss social media and email marketing best practices. It will run from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This program will also be offered at 5 p.m. on Feb. 11 at the Bay Terrace Library, located at 18-36 Bell Blvd.
