Douglaston Little Neck Library Unveils September Programs

Events include a concert featuring songs in numerous languages and an art display.

The Douglaston Little Neck Library’s has unveiled its schedule of September programs, which includes an art demonstration and a performance of songs in a variety of languages.

On Sept. 3, the library will host an art demonstration for adults with Susan Herz. The program begins at 3 p.m.

The library, located at 249-01 Northern Blvd. in Little Neck, will hold its executive board meeting for Friends of the Library at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 12.

On Sept. 17, there will be a performance by Sean and Phyllis Lind, who will sing popular Russian, French, Italian, Irish, Haitian, Spanish and Yiddish songs. The concert will start at 3 p.m.

On Sept. 27, the library will hold a reception for a gallery full of local art work at 2:30 p.m.

As for its monthly classes, the library will hold its Mother Goose Time program for children on Sept. 23 and 30 at 11:15 a.m.

English conversation classes will begin at 1 p.m. on Sept. 9, 16, 23 and 30. Another session of the classes will be at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 5, 12, 19 and 26.

Knitting and crocheting club will start at 4 p.m. on Sept. 9, 16, 23 and 30, while an AARP driver safety class will begin at 11 a.m. on Sept. 6 and 12.
