Douglaston Little Neck Library to Host Concert, T-Shirt Painting in August
Library will also offer an art class for children and a sign language course.
The Douglaston Little Neck Library will offer an art class for children, T-shirt painting and a musical tribute to several famous crooners in August.
The library, which is located at 249-01 Northern Blvd. in Little Neck, will host a T-shirting painting event for teenagers on Aug. 2 at 4 p.m.
Another of the library’s special programs for the month is an art class for children that will be hosted by artist Susan Herz. The event will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 27.

The library’s Sign, Read and Play will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 28. This course combines storytelling, songs and sign language skills and is taught by certified American Sign Language instructor Jacqueline Ciaramella. The class is aimed at children, ages 3 years and below. Space is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis.
And on Aug. 22 at 2:30 p.m., the library will hold a concert by Arnie Gruber that pays homage to Frank Sinatra, Barry Manilow and Neil Sedaka.

As for monthly recurring programs, the library will host its Mother Goose class at 11:15 a.m. on Aug. 6 and its English conversation class at 1 p.m. on Aug. 5, 12, 19 and 26.
Knitting and crocheting club will begin at 4 p.m. on Aug. 5, 12, 19 and 26, while Dig Into Reading will kick off at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 6 and 20.
Twilight Tales Time will start at 5:45 p.m. on Aug. 1 and 8 and an AARP driver safety class will be held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 2 and 9.
