Douglaston Community Day Will Be Held Aug. 13

Event held in front of Strawberry's Sports Grill will include food, batting cages and a dunk tank.

Douglaston Community Day will be held Aug. 13 in front of from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will include food, batting cages, a dunk tank, a bounce house, mini hoops and a live D.J.

Former Mets slugger Darryl Strawberry will host the event in front of his restaurant along 235th Street near Douglaston's Long Island Rail Road station.

All proceeds from the event will go towards the Darryl Strawberry Foundation and local charitable organizations.
