Christmas Openings and Closings

In case you've forgotten last year's Christmas Eve and Christmas Day openings and closures

Even the City that never sleeps takes a breather on Christmas.

Here's a rundown of changes to City services. 

1. On December 24, post offices and mail delivery will operate, as well as UPS and Fedex Deliveries.

2. There is no mail delivery on Christmas Day. The post offices, except for the self-service kiosks at the New York City main branch on 32nd Street and 8th Avenue in Manhattan, will be closed. There will be no delivery of UPS or Fedex packages, either. 

3. Banks, schools and government offices will be closed on Christmas Day.

4. Alternate side of the street parking is suspended on both December 24 and 25.

5. The Long Island Railroad will have extra trains operating on the Port Washington line on Christmas Eve, though trains will run on the Holiday Schedule on Christmas Day.

6. New York City bus and subways run on a Sunday Schedule.
