Greetings, Bayside! We have much to discuss today, there is plenty going on in the ‘nabe. Our Editor Lori Gross has returned to Bayside, and the time has come to hand  over the reins of Bayside Patch.

As always, I am never far from anything going down in the neighborhood, so keep in touch,  email , call , or text me breaking news or events you would like covered and I will surely be there.

And so, without further adieu, I bring you Five Things You Need To Know on this exciting Wednesday:

1. Grab your camera. City Council Member, Dan Halloran, R-Whitestone, will bestowAt 1 P.M. in front of Engine 320 at 36-18 Francis Lewis Blvd. Don’t miss it.

2. Tolls on the 59th St. Bridge (Ed Koch Bridge), again? It’s a distinct possibility. Read Paul Leonard's report,

3. The Alley Pond Environmental Center will be hosting their annual The walk will begin at the center and proceed to Joe Michael’s Mile, finishing at the Bayside Marina. Kids participate free. Join in on the fun for a worthy cause.

4. Bayside sticks together.  at the Clearview Golf Club will raise money to support Jesse Montali, a three year old boy suffering from cerebral palsey. New players are welcome. Please help spread the word. 

5. Mother’s Day is on May 8th. Take a moment and make a reservation to honor mom.
