Nonetheless, Little Neck residents may be a little disappointed to find out that traditional brunch menus are coming up short, while others like Brendan Buggy remain optimistic and plan to make the most of it.
“I grew up in Little Neck, and I always come back for the food,” said Buggy who was looking forward to taking his fiancé, Brianne Smith to a late morningearly afternoon snack at La Baraka Restaurant.

Many of the menus are unchanged for New Years Day. “We are loyal to our customers,” said Vinny, the manager of Ristorante La Grotta noting that his loyal patrons do not like any sort of change.
In recognition of the tradition, and in homage to the meal served sometime after breakfast yet before lunch, Patch has prepared a list of eateries open for business on New Years Day.
No brunch menu, however a lunch buffet includes 17 salads, steam mussels, roasted chicken and mixed vegetables. Price: 13.95. Open 11:30AM-2PM.

Kebab House will be open on the first day of the year with a regular menu, however a late night extravaganza is planned for New Years Eve including a pre fix menu, unlimited food, light music and a belly dancer.
Open for New Years Day, Northern Manor will serve brunch beginning at 9:30AM.
The brunch menu at La Grotta is standard fare. Specials are to be announced by the chef on New Years Day. Free valet parking.
