Bayside Historical Society to Host Paranormal Investigations

Events will be held at the Lawrence Cemetery on Oct. 26 and Nov. 2.

The Bayside Historical Society is hosting paranormal investigations at the Lawrence Cemetery during two upcoming events.

The Long Island Paranormal Seekers held an event last summer during which they searched for otherworldly activity at the historical society’s castle in Fort Totten.

Now, the group will return on Oct. 26 and Nov. 2 for two events - from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. – during which they will look for paranormal activity at Bayside’s Lawrence Cemetery.

“There was so much turnout last time, so we’re doing it again,” said Alison McKay, director and archivist of the historical society. “But we can’t have too much activity there when they’re trying to discover paranormal activity, so we’ll do it twice.”

During the event, team leader Anthony Simonelli will introduce the various tools and techniques used to discover paranormal activity.

But McKay said the event may not be for the feint of heart.

“We strongly suggest parents come with a child if they are under 13,” she said.

Reservations are strongly suggested and can be made by calling 718-352-1548. Admission is $8 for members and $10 for nonmembers.

The cemetery is located in a wooded area at the corner of 216th Street and 42nd Avenue in Bayside.
