Alert: Air Quality Poor Through Monday
More than the usual level of pollutants pervade air in the New York area today.
An Air Quality Advisory has been issues for Queens and much of the New York Metro area until 1a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The excess pollutants detected in the air may especially bother people with respiratory problems such as heart disease or asthma, and young children.
In addition to Queens County, people in Kings, Richmond, Nassau, Suffolk, New York are recommended to abstain from doing strenuous activities outdoors.
