Pisces Fishing for Love

'Shark infested waters' intimidate the fishiest sign.

Dear Yael,

I’m 39, a Pisces and almost ready to give up on dating. I was born in Suffrin, NY on February 21, 1972.  I’m 6’0 tall, with a slim athletic build.  I keep in good physical shape through outdoor activities, such as kayaking, snorkeling, rollerblading, etc... I love to travel, entertain at my place, cook and organize events to get my friends together.  I’m well educated and well read, with a quirky sarcastic but fun sense of humor.  I am one of those rare people who actually enjoys what they do for a living, and even though I work a lot, I always make time for someone special in my life.  I’m looking for an intelligent, classy, slim/fit lady to make a life with; but it’s been difficult going in the shark infested dating waters of South Florida.  Can you offer any good advice on where to find someone I’ll “fit” with?

Thanks,
Ethan

Dear Ethan,

Although the dating world can be challenging at times, I belong to that small group of people that still believes in true love.  Don’t settle for anything less than what you want, but define what you simply can’t live without.  Since you cannot always determine the size, shape, and personality of the one you will end up falling for, it’s important to have a flexible “list”.

I realize that you are determined to find exactly what you are looking for, but perhaps understanding your own nature will give you more freedom to choose.   Don’t limit yourself to the physical.   As you are a Pisces, you have the ability to see through the physicality of life.  Rely on your perceptiveness more.

Since you have a Pisces Sun and a Taurus Moon, you are actually more fortunate than you may know.  Pisces men are sensitive and spend much of their time in their own imaginations.  Coupled with a Taurus Moon, you are determined and resilient in matters of the heart.  You are also more tactile and “in touch” with your feminine side than most men.  Your Sun and Moon are harmonious, but what throws you a bit off kilter is your Ascendant in Sagittarius,

Although you oscillate between your internal and external consciousness, your Sagittarius rising will always force you out of your private realm and into the adventure called life.  You love nature, the outdoors, and your woman of choice will definitely need to enjoy such things.  You are also intellectual, metaphysical, and philosophical, so you definitely prefer a partner who can have conversations with you as well as hold her own in debates.

Individuals with a Sagittarius rising have a difficult time choosing between the object of their love and their own personal freedom.  Your Moon in the Fifth House also adds a bit to your changeable nature since it is this element that forces you to be so preoccupied with trivialities.

You asked me where you could find a woman who will “fit” you and your life.  I have a simple response for you.  Do exactly as you are doing, but try to be a little bit more committed to what you really want…not just for a night but for the rest of your days.  There will always be more beautiful and more intelligent, but your future partner will be perfect for you – just as she is.  Since you are so active, I am sure that you will run into her soon.  Perhaps you already have and just didn’t realize it.

Yael

The local, fresh fruit and vegetable market was a worthwhile addition to Douglaston. Obviously, itRead More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.

Unfortunately, according to the Douglas Manor Association, the fresh fruit and vegetable market willRead More NOT return this year. No specific reason was given other than this was at the initiative of the merchants or the market's organizers. And this..., just as we were beginning to enjoy the Long Island wines and the $34 per pound skirt steak, ordered two months in advance.
