Teddy Tennis Starts Again in Bayside

Teddy Tennis NY is back for another session in Bayside.

The new addition to the Teddy Tennis summer portfolio, designed to encourage young children to get active and learn to play tennis, is scheduled to begin July 8, 2014 and run through to August 31, 2014 at The North Shore Tennis and Racquets Club, located at 34-28 214th Place, Bayside, NY.

Walter Giacometti, director of the program who made the announcement, stated that the program was specifically designed for kids, ranging in ages from two-and-a-half to six years.

“The new eight-week summer tennis program works by combining music, pictures and teddy bear stories into a totally interactive learning adventure that young children love,” said Walter, who noted the new Teddy Tennis program would be held on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 3:00-3:45 pm and Sundays 10:30-11:15 am.

“Each child who participates in the program will receive a Teddy Tennis T-shirt and Cub Card,” added Walter, who believes Teddy Tennis is a fantastic new fun way to encourage children to get active and learn to play tennis while also helping kids establish the basis of a healthy lifestyle by making exercise and activity fun and involving.

What the experts are saying

According to Peter D. McCraw, an expert in world-class athlete development, Teddy Tennis is a unique and innovative program that introduces children to the fundamentals of tennis. Its distinctive approach, which  combines music with motion creates an ideal learning environment for children of all ages and abilities to develop sound athletic and tennis skills and offers a unique introduction to learning to play and appreciate the tennis game.

“Teddy Tennis is the best I have seen,” said McCraw, who is also the founder of the “CBD Model” (Competitive Based Development for Tennis.), a coach educator, leading tennis researcher, and world-renowned developmental coach.

What the parents are saying

Parents of children that have participated in previous Teddy Tennis programs believes it “provides a fantastic way to help young children learn mobility skills in a fun-filled  atmosphere,” said one father, Damian Bruce. “The unique approach with the musical activities adds to the fun, my son Joshua really looks forward to it.”

Emma Schulte, another parent said: “After just five days of Teddy Tennis, my daughter Jessica’s racket, ball, and coordination have improved hugely. A fantastic course that introduces children to the skill and fun of tennis.”

“Once children get the bug for being active, they will want to stay active for good,” noted Walter, the program’s director. He believes the educational benefits Teddy Tennis offers young kids makes it a ‘must do’ summer activity.
