Wednesday: Dementia Symposium, Nook Assistance at Barnes & Noble

The Samuel Field Y will host a symposium today on dementia research, treatment and caregiver support at 9:30 a.m.

The event will take place at Margaret Tietz Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, located at 164-11 Chapin Parkway in Jamaica Hills.

Bay Terrace's Barnes & Noble, located at 23-80 Bell Blvd., is offering an event at 7 -p.m. to teach attendees how to use a Nook.

The Bayside Library, located at 214-20 Northern Blvd., is holding its Mother Goose and Toddler Time programs today.

The former, which is aimed at children between the ages of 18 and 30 months, includes nursery rhymes, finger plays, songs and rhymes. It begins at 11 a.m.

The latter, which is for children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 years, includes stories, nursery rhymes, finger plays and songs. It starts at 1:30 p.m.
