Wednesday: Crayon Recycling at the Library, National Art League Classes

The Douglaston gallery will offer still life painting and mixed media courses today.

The Douglaston Little Neck Library is hosting its weekly crayon recycling program and a Sign, Read and Play class today.

The recycling program, which begins at 11 a.m., will collect crayons in any condition that will be used to create new ones. The sign language class combines instruction with storytelling and begins at 1 p.m.

The library is located at 249-01 Northern Blvd. in Little Neck.

The National Art League's classes for the day include techniques in flower and still life painting at 9:30 a.m., painting techniques with bright color at 7 p.m. and mixed media at 1 p.m.

The gallery is located at 44-21 Douglaston Parkway.
