Wednesday: Composting at Queens County Farm, Library Programs for Kids

The Queens Botanical Garden will host a composting project today at the Queens County Farm Museum from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

There will be a $5 fee per person. Attendees will learn how to compost using kitchen scraps, weeds and garden trimmings. Registration is required. To sign up, call 718-539-5296.

The Bayside Library, located at 214-20 Northern Blvd., will offer its Mother Goose Time class for children between the ages of 18 months and 2 1/2 years at 11 a.m. It includes nursery, rhymes, finger plays and songs.

The library will also hold its Toddler Time class at 1:30 p.m. The class, which is aimed at children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 years, includes stories, songs and rhymes.

Queens Restaurant Week runs through Thursday this week, giving borough residents the opportunity to eat prix fixe meals at more than 40 borough eateries.

Northeast Queens restaurants participating in restaurant week include Bourbon Street, Donovan's of Bayside, Papazzio Restaurant, Pier 25A and many others.
