Wednesday: Clinton Democratic Club Meeting, Kids' Programs at the Library

Also, the National Art League is offering four classes today.

The Clinton Democratic Club will meet tonight at 7 p.m. at 25-59 Francis Lewis Blvd. in Flushing.

Guest speakers at the event will include city Comptroller John Liu, Patrolmen's Benevolent Association President Patrick Lynch and United Federation of Teachers Queens Political Action Coordinator Dermot Smyth. The club will collect bags of candy from attendees that will be donated to local police precincts and firehouses.

The Bayside Library, located at 214-20 Northern Blvd., will offer its Toddler Time and Mother Goose Time programs today. The former, which begins at 11 a.m., is aimed at children between the ages of 18 months to 2 1/2 years. The class includes nursery rhymes, finger plays and songs.

The latter, which begins at 1:30 p.m., is for children, ages 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 years, includes stories, songs and rhymes.

The National Art League's classes for the day include flower and still life painting, mixed media, drawing and figure drawing. The gallery is located at 44-21 Douglaston Parkway.

Also, there's no alternate side parking today as the city honors Idul Adha. But parking meters are still in effect.
