Wednesday: Bird Club Film Festival, Children's Programs at the Library

The Queens County Bird Club will host its second annual winter film festival at 8 p.m. at Alley Pond Environmental Center, located at 228-06 Northern Blvd. in Douglaston.

The group will screen several episodes of the TV show "Birding Adventures." South African birder James Currie donated the entire series to the club.

The Bayside Library, located at 214-20 Northern Blvd., is offering its Mother Goose Time and Toddler Time programs today.

The former, which is aimed at children between the ages of 18 and 30 months, will include nursery rhymes, finger plays, songs and play time. The class begins at 11 a.m.

The latter, which is for children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 years, begins at 1:30 p.m. and includes stories, nursery rhymes, songs and finger plays.
