Tuesday: Japanese Monsters at the Library, Oil Painting at National Art League

The library is also holding its needlework club, while the Douglaston gallery is also offering a figure drawing class.

The Bayside Library, located at 214-20 Northern Blvd., is holding a program on Japanese monsters as well as its needlework club today.

Kowai Japanese Monsters, which begins at 4 p.m., explores the creepy creatures of Japan, including shape-shifting foxes, ghostly cats, hopping umbrellas, burning wheels and other strange beings.

The library is also holding its needlework club at 4:30 p.m. The event is aimed at ages 10 years and above. Attendees should bring their own yarn.


The National Art League, located at 44-21 Douglaston Parkway, is an offering oil painting class at 1 p.m. and a figure drawing class at 7 p.m.
