Apartment Dwellers Living on High Should Evacuate, Warns NOAA
High rise dwellers should be wary of high velocity wind that could break their windows.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and FEMA warn that residents living above the tenth floor of high rise buildings should leave their apartments before Hurricane Irene hits.
High wind velocity at altitudes at the tenth floor level and above increase the possibility that windows can be blown out. Resident should should also be sure not to stay in low floors, if they are prone to flooding.
